Non-Toxic Nail Art Starring Ria Nailz

If you love nail art you must meet Ria Lopez.

Ria is a dear friend of Beauty Lies Truth and one of the most badass nail artists in the business. We are thrilled to announce that each month, right here on Beauty Lies Truth, Ria will be sharing her nail-tastic skills with us! #BOWDOWN

Not only will she be explaining her nail designs step-by-step, but she’ll be using exclusively non-toxic nail polish. YES!!!

As you probably know nail polish is full of some serious chemicals. Fortunately, more and more polish brands are eliminating toxins such as toluene, camphor, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin and DBP (dibutyl phthalate) from their formulations. While nail polish will never be 100% natural, the industry is taking steps in the right direction and several brands are now five-free.

This month Ria is repping Zoya, an awesome cruelty-free, vegan polish brand she frequently uses in her Brooklyn salon.

….and now for the nail art!

Here’s what you’ll need to have some sassy summer circles of your own…

Zoya polishes in Snow White, Wendy, Rooney, and Rocha
Stripe Rite Nail Art Striper in Black (available at most beauty supply stores)
Nail Candy 2-Way Striper & Dotter (available at most beauty supply stores)
Makeup Sponge
Step 1: Start by painting all of your nails white using Zoya’s Snow White polish.

Step 2: Take the makeup sponge and brush on Wendy, Rooney and Rocha.

Step 3: Pat the makeup sponge on your nails until all three colors blend together creating an ombre effect.

Step 4: Using the Stripe Rite striper carefully outline your nails.

Step 5: Using the pen end of the two-way striper fill in the outline by drawing several different sized circles.

It really was that easy!!
